Two things belong to you and follow you around: what you want remembered, and the tools you build up over time.

Memory that follows you

Tell one assistant, and every other one knows. Log “30 minutes on the Acme call” from your phone, then ask “hours this week?” on your laptop - same answer.

It belongs to you, not to any one app or AI. It stays as the tools around you come and go.

Capabilities you build up

Time tracking, a shopping list, a recipe box - little personal tools your assistant knows how to run, including real web pages you can bookmark: check items off at the store with a tap, and your assistant sees it.

Grow them just by asking - “add billable tags to my time tracking.” They adapt to how you actually work.

Share with people you choose

Hand someone a copy, or tend one living thing together - a household grocery list, a team's time records, a coach's view of your training.

You decide who sees and edits what. And leaving is clean: the group keeps its own, you keep yours.

You never open Elros yourself. Your AI assistant connects to it and does the remembering, tracking, and sharing on your behalf - behind the conversation you're already having. And when you have an idea that fits no example here, just ask your AI to help you build it with Elros. You'll be surprised what you can build.

Connect it once

Add Elros to your assistant as a connector and sign in a single time. Setup instructions are below for each app.

Just talk to your assistant

Say “remember that…”, “track 2 hours on the onboarding flow,” or “share this list with Sam.” Your assistant routes it to Elros.

Pick your app. It takes a minute, and you only do it once per assistant.

Elros is in private beta. Signing in only works if you've been invited - ask an existing user to invite the email you sign in with, or to add you to a team. Follow the steps below once you're in.

One file does it all. The Elros plugin bundles the connector and the “Elros” helper skills - and the same setup carries to claude.ai and the mobile app once you sign in.

Install it in Claude

Open the Claude desktop app's Settings, find Extensions (or drag the downloaded elros.plugin file into the window), and install it.

Sign in to Elros - once

The first time your assistant uses Elros, a browser opens to an Elros sign-in page. Approve it once and you stay connected; it refreshes silently after that.

Try it

Say “Elros, what can you do?” or “Remember that our standup is at 9am.” On claude.ai and mobile, just sign in to the same Claude account - Elros is already there.

Two commands connect the Elros MCP server - that alone gives you memory, capabilities, and sharing. A short optional step adds the “Elros” wake-word skills.

Add the Elros connector

Run this in your terminal (--scope user makes Elros available in every project):

Sign in to Elros - once

Inside a Claude Code session run /mcp, pick elros, and approve the browser sign-in (or run claude mcp login elros from the shell).

That's the whole setup. Your assistant now has your Elros memory, capabilities, and teams on every tool call - call it out with “use Elros to…”.

Optional: add the “Elros” helper skills

These let you trigger Elros just by name (“Elros, …”) instead of asking for it explicitly. Download the plugin, then paste the prompt below into Claude Code and it will install them for you.

I downloaded elros.plugin to my Downloads folder. It's a zip archive containing a
skills/ directory (each subfolder holds a SKILL.md). Please extract it and copy each
skill directory into ~/.claude/skills/ so the skills are available in all my projects,
then confirm which skills you installed.
The connector by itself is fully functional - the helper skills are just a convenience so you can summon Elros by name. Skip step 3 if you'd rather ask for Elros explicitly.

Elros is a standard MCP server, so any assistant that supports MCP connectors can use it. Here's what it needs - enough for you and your assistant to work out the rest together.

The connector

Add a custom MCP connector pointing at this URL, over HTTP transport. You'll complete a one-time browser sign-in the first time it's used:

The skills

Elros's own skills live on the server - once connected, your assistant discovers them on its own (start, skills_list, skills_fetch). Nothing to install.

Optional: teach your AI to answer to the name “Elros” by adding the two helper skills through your AI's “upload a skill” setting. A .skill file is a plain zip of one skill folder - rename it to .zip if your AI insists.

Most AI providers - ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini CLI - support custom connectors and skills that can be configured through their settings user interface. We'll add named, tested steps for more providers over time.

Good to know

What is Elros, exactly?
A memory your AI assistant connects to. You never use Elros directly - your assistant saves the things worth keeping and runs your capabilities as part of the conversation you're already having, on whatever device or AI you're using. The thinking stays in the assistant; the remembering is Elros.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything is kept in a reliable cloud database that belongs to you, and every request is checked against your identity - nobody sees anything unless you explicitly share it. When you do share, you choose exactly what, with whom, and whether they can view or also edit.
Am I locked into one AI?
No - that's the point. Your memory and tools belong to you, not to any single assistant. Use Claude today and something else next year; connect both, and the same memory is there. It travels with you as the tools around you change.
What happens to shared data when I leave a team?
You lose access to the team's shared data - including entries you contributed, because those were the team's records. The team keeps everything intact, and your own personal data is completely untouched.
